Kelly Chesson made a special presentation to Washington County’s planning board last month, where he provided a number of updates on the ongoing strides towards improving the county’s economic standing.
Chesson, a strategic project coordinator for the Association of County Commissioners, came to bring board members up to speed on his group’s activities where economic development is concerned. In the past, Chesson and the Association’s focus has been primarily on water and utility projects, something that has presented its own set of challenges both within and beyond the county’s borders.
While those efforts are ongoing, the organization has switched its focus towards devising economic development strategies for improving industrial and commercial development as well as downtown revitalization.
