Washington County Schools’ administrators declared a line in the sand against gang-related activity in a letter to the community from Superintendent David White last week.
White says specific recent incidents at the high school, along with signs of gang-related activities that have disrupted instruction and created a distraction from student learning, make heightened awareness necessary.
“I want to clearly communicate the seriousness of the situation and reassure our community that we are taking proactive steps,” White said in an email following the April 9 letter to the community. “It’s important that our families and stakeholders know we are addressing these issues with urgency and purpose...”
