A new interim Superintendent of Tyrrell County Schools (TCS) takes office in December, with a well-known district employee serving as Acting Superintendent until then.

Tyrrell County’s school board announced the appointment of veteran educator Dr. Michael Bracy as Interim Superintendent in a release November 11. Bracy takes the post December 2, with Audrey Curles, a district employee for nearly two decades, serving as Acting Superintendent until then.

Bracy’s 30-year resume in education includes:

• Thirteen years with Jones County Public Schools, including 12 years as superintendent;

• Recent interim superintendent roles in Camden County Schools and Pender County
