Raymond Earl Daniels

December 17, 1938 – January 13, 2025

Raymond Earl Daniels Sr., 86, of Jamesville, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025, at ECU Health Bertie Hospital.

Raymond Daniels Sr. was born in Washington County on December 17, 1938, to the late Robert Matthew and Girtha Hardison Daniels.

Raymond spent his working years as a barber and a home improvement salesman for Sears. 

He loved to play his guitar and gospel music. He was a member of the Gospel Light Church of Christ in the Dardens community. He served as the chairman of the Men’s Leadership Team and as the founding member of the church’s praise band. Raymond also actively participated in the church’s music programs until his death.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Gospel Light Church of Christ at a later date. A private family inurnment will take place at the Hardison Family Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn (Kathy) Daniels of Blounts Creek; granddaughter, Emily-Rae (Rae) Kathryn Daniels of Jamesville; his sister, Shirley D. Stephenson of Acworth, GA; and his longtime friend, Betsy Ward of Jamesville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Raymond E. Daniels Jr.; his brother Henry Matthew Daniels; and his sister, Gloria D. Modlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gospel Light Church of Christ, 3337 Old US Highway 64, Jamesville, NC  27846.

Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth.

Peggy Jean Rogers Roberson

Peggy Jean Rogers Roberson, 85, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at her home in Plymouth.

Jay Hardison officiated a funeral at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, at Maitland Funeral Home in Plymouth.  Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston.

The family received friends 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., prior to the service, and immediately following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
